Donor–Acceptor Stenhouse Adducts: Exploring the Effects of Ionic Character

The effects of solution-state dielectric and intermolecular interactions on the degree charge separation provide a route to understanding switching properties concentration dependence donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs). Through solvatochromic analysis open-form DASA in conjunction with X-ray diffraction computational theory, we have analyzed ionic character series DASAs. First- third-generation architectures lead higher zwitterionic resonance contribution open form closed form, whereas second-generation architecture possesses less charge-separated neutral form. This can be correlated equilibrium control photoswitching solvent compatibility. As result high forms first- DASAs, were able their kinetics by means ion concentration, DASAs affected. Importantly, these results show how previously reported is not universal, that more hybrid structure achieve at concentrations.
